PROJECT:
Midtown Painting & Dry Rot Repair
DESCRIPTION:
This Sacramento home renovation was all about restoring structural integrity and refreshing curb appeal. We began with comprehensive dry rot repairs to the main residence, ensuring the home’s exterior was sound before moving forward with cosmetic upgrades.
As part of the exterior remodel, we removed outdated window planter boxes from the garage ADU and sealed all fastener holes for a smooth, finished appearance. To streamline the look and improve safety, we eliminated unnecessary data and utility wires. We also modified the gutter system—cutting back the downspout and installing an extension to direct water into the planter for better drainage.
Additional updates included installing metal flashing between the fence post and house, sealing the chimney, and prepping both structures for fresh paint. After a thorough pressure wash, we sealed cracks with exterior-grade caulking and applied a modern three-color paint scheme that highlighted the main body, trim, shutters, and accessories. A newly painted white pergola attached to the garage provided a crisp, clean finishing touch.
This exterior painting and dry rot repair project not only reinforced the home’s structure but also elevated its curb appeal—blending durability, efficiency, and modern charm in one cohesive renovation.
